The Noble Nest

Ul. Dekabristov. Tel.: 312-32-05

"The Noble Nest" is a truly stylish restaurant. It has managed to preserve the traditions of the Russian aristocracy, recreating an atmosphere of luxury, romanticism and refined taste. The restaurant is situated in the Tea Pavilion of the Yusupov Palace , not far from the Mariinsky Theatre. After restoration this elegant pavilion, designed by Jean-Baptiste Vallin-Delamotte, once again radiates its former splendour. The two small rooms (red and black) are decorated in the style of a 19th century aristocratic drawing-room, as if lifted straight out of a Turgenev novel. The music room on the first floor invites guests to pass their time with a glass of something refined while enjoying the sounds of the piano and harp. Classical music can always be heard in the restaurant, and the impeccable personnel are welcoming and attentive. The restaurant offers a menu that features traditional Russian dishes, specialties of French cuisine and delicacies prepared to old Yusupov family recipes: for example, the tender "Opera" of duck liver with smoked duck breast, or a duet of parboiled Lavrak and fried Barabulka on a bed of spinach and asparagus. The wine list includes fine wines from France , Spain , Italy , Argentina , Chile and all the other wine-growing areas of the world. There is also a rich selection of exclusive cognacs, the best champagnes and the finest cigars; in short, everything for the true connoisseur.
