Celentano

28 Karavannaya Ul., Tel.: 314-84-68

The famous actor in whose honour "Celentano" was named would probably have enjoyed a visit to the restaurant. The interior designed in "tasty" shades of orange, the wooden tables and the willow baskets with bunches of twigs create the image of a country trattoria in the south of Italy , where the actor's parents came from.

And the food is just like an Italian mother would make: delicious thin pizzas with various toppings, the indispensable pasta to start with, the traditional minestrone soup of seven vegetables, French and Italian onion soup, and frutti di mare of all imaginable types and variations. The chef knows that the secret of excellent food does not at all lie in the toppings, as many people think. Mind you, there is a wealth of toppings at "Celentano": olives, ham, salami, mushrooms, seafood, pineapple and twenty more ingredients that can be added to the pizza base. However, the exclusive recipe used to make the "Celentano" dough was found in one of Italy 's northern provinces . The chef will not divulge the secret, but ensures that the recipe is strictly observed.

The wines, it hardly need be said, are Italian. Only Italian grapes can make the wines that perfectly complement the filling and varied Italian cuisine! If it is true that the way to a man's heart is through his stomach, a visit to "Celentano" would be the best way to tame a shrew.
